The problem
Support and care workers have to write up every visit. Most do it at home in the evening, from memory, on a phone. The notes end up thin, late and sometimes wrong, which is a serious problem when those notes are legal records.
What we built
At the end of a visit the worker taps once and talks for a minute. The app turns the recording into a structured shift note in the format the organisation requires, tags it with time and location and sends it to the office once the worker has checked and confirmed it.
How it was built
The mobile app uses React Native and the office web view uses React, with Python on the backend. Speech-to-text and a language model structure the note, and GPS verifies the visit. The app works offline and syncs when the signal returns.
The result
Notes are written at the door instead of at midnight. They are more detailed, because speaking is faster than typing, and the office receives them the same day.
