Replace your old system without stopping the business
The system runs your company, but it is built on a framework that stopped receiving security updates years ago, and the one person who understood it left in 2019.
You can't switch it off, and you can't keep it forever. This is how we handle that.
A staged approach, with no big-bang rewrite
Rewriting a whole system and switching over in one weekend often leads to months of disruption. We replace it one piece at a time.
- 1
Map it
Over two to three weeks we work out what the system actually does today, including the parts nobody documented.
- 2
Pick the first piece
This is usually the module that causes the most pain and has the fewest connections to the rest.
- 3
Build it new, run it alongside
Both versions run side by side with their data kept in sync, and users move over in groups.
- 4
Repeat, then retire it
We continue piece by piece until the old system has nothing left to do. Then we archive the data so it stays readable and switch the old system off.
The business keeps running at every point
If a step goes wrong, only that piece is rolled back while everything else keeps working.
