The problem
In any company with more than a hundred people, HR spends a large part of every day answering the same questions. How much leave do I have left? What is my notice period? Can I claim this expense? The answers are all in documents that few people read.
What we built
An AI assistant that employees can ask in plain language. It reads the company's own policy documents and HR system and answers with a link to the exact policy it used.
The interesting part is the architecture. Rather than one AI that can see everything, there are three separate agents: one that knows company policy, one that can look up an individual's own data, and an orchestrator that decides which of them is allowed to answer. The policy agent can never reveal someone's salary by accident, because it has never had access to it.
How it was built
Kiora is built on .NET, with PostgreSQL and pgvector for document search, OpenAI for the language layer and React for the interface. Every answer carries its source. If the assistant can't find one, it says so and offers to raise a ticket with HR.
Why it matters to you
If your team answers the same questions from a pile of documents, the same pattern works for you, whether in support, sales, compliance or field operations.
